First Fadjr University Theatre Festival

In 1978, the first Fadjr university theatre was held after the idea presentation of University theatre section of Fadjr Theatre Festival from General Office of cultural affairs of Science Ministry, and approving of it synchronized with 16^th Fadjr International Theatre Festival in a week of 1997 with participation of active theatre groups of universities.

Second Fadjr University Theatre Festival

 The second festival was like the first one. It was also one of the sections of Fadjr International Theatre Festival that was held in Feb.1998 in Tehran University . The main aim of the second festival was recognizing the potential talents of students in dramatic art.

Third Fadjr University Theatre Festival

Third Fadjr University Theatre Festival was held as a section of 18^th Fadjr International Theatre Festival in Feb.1999 with cooperation of Dramatic Arts Center and General Office of cultural affairs of Science Ministry.

That was the fist University theatre festival that was competitive.

Fourth Fadjr University Theatre Festival

Third Fadjr University Theatre Festival was held as a section of 19^th Fadjr International Theatre Festival in Feb.1999 with cooperation of Dramatic Arts Center and Assembly of theatre canons of Iran's Universities by General Office of cultural affairs of Science Ministry. Competition of stage theatre, competition of theatre photography and competition of writing play were held in the 4^th festival during six days in February of 2000 in Cinema –theatre faculty of Honar University.

In Falahatpour hall of the faculty, several selected theatre films of world were shown and were analysis by "Mansour Barahimi", "Mohammad Reza Khaki, and Maryam Majd".

Synchronized with the festival, exhibition of theatre posters (before Islamic revolution and after it) were shown.

Fifth Fadjr University Theatre Festival

For the first time, Fifth Fadjr University Theatre Festival was held as the international festival with participation of four groups. Beside the main sections of festival with holding competition section and international one, other sections were: educational sessions, Criticism sessions, workshops, seminars, play-writing competition, and photography competition.

In the 5^th festival, book of “point of view to acting” under the contrl of Mansour Barahimi, was published.

In 6^th rounds of festival, the Fadjr University Theatre Festival

 Was separated from Fajr festival and changed its name to Fadjr International University Theatre Festival.

In the sixth festival, beside Tehran, some of the provinces such as Meshed, Isfahan, and…held festival. International sessions, photography sessions, criticism sessions, and… were some of the lateral activities of the festival.

Eighth International University Theatre Festival of Iran

 In contrary with previous festivals, the 8^th festival was held on April instead of February of 2005 under the title of International University Theatre Festival of Iran.

For the first time, outdoor theater section, article-writing section and play-reading section were added. Regions festivals were also held in different cities of Iran.

Ninth International University Theatre Festival of Iran

 Ninth International University Theatre Festival of Iran like the eighth one was held in April in separation of Fajr Theatre Festival.

Article-writing and translation section and Graphic competition were added to other previous sections of festival.

Regions festivals were performed in Sanandaj, Rasht, and Hormozgan.

11 workshops were held during the festival with participation of international professors.
